Ewan McClure (b. Aberdeen, 1975) is a Scottish painter based in Kirkcudbright, known for his distinctive realist portraiture, still life and landscape works.
A finalist on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year (2013), where he painted Michael Kerr, Sophie Dahl and AP McCoy, McClure’s deftly executed paintings have since gained significant recognition both in the UK and internationally.
He was a finalist in the BP Portrait Award (2013) and shortlisted for the Conversations Prize at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2015). His works are held in numerous public and private collections, including The Robert Fleming Collection, Princeton Theological Seminary and The Royal Scottish Academy.
