About the artist

Ann Fraser (b. 1936, Scotland) is one of the UK’s most respected botanical painters. Based in Inveresk, East Lothian, where she designed and developed a celebrated garden with her husband Charles, she draws much of her inspiration directly from nature.

She studied at Edinburgh College of Art before training with John Mooney and Paul Nisbet at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Her first solo exhibition took place in London in 1991, and she has since exhibited widely in both London and Edinburgh.

Fraser has received numerous awards from the Royal Horticultural Society, including a Gold Medal. Her works are represented in private collections across Europe and America, and form part of the renowned Shirley Sherwood Collection.
