About the artist
Ronald F. Smith RSW RGI PAI (b. Glasgow, 1946) graduated in Drawing and Painting from the Glasgow School of Art in 1969.
Working primarily in landscape and seascape, his paintings explore mood, colour, and light with a distinctive lyrical sensibility.
Smith’s work has long been in demand both in Scotland and abroad. He has exhibited widely in leading galleries across the UK, and his paintings are represented in numerous private collections internationally. As an elected member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW), the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (RGI), and the Paisley Art Institute (PAI), he continues to play a prominent role in Scotland’s contemporary art scene.
