About the work

"Roots. Twisted or deep, hardened with age or fragile - everyone is nourished by their own.

Mine have been torn out, left for a time in a pot - searching, yet never finding the quiet of real earth.

Worn by the wind, tangled with stray shoots of weeds carried in by chance, and calloused from waiting, they send up different growth each spring, trying to adjust to a restless, shifting climate."

About the artist

The FRYM is a London-based multidisciplinary artist, working with high-end brands, interior stylists, media and mural production companies.

The artist specialises in a self-developed one-of-a-kind technique and the craft of making natural paint. Their paintings are often referred to as hypnotic, and powerfully calming.

Their self-developed painting style stems from years of practising calligraphy. For a left-handed artist, traditional calligraphy imposed limitations on their writing flow, prompting the artist to reinvent the process. Instead of following a line from left to right, they began to translate calligraphic rhythm into imagery. Over time, the strokes transformed into flowers, leaves, landscapes, and bodies.

The FRYM is constantly developing their style of expression, experimenting with the rhythmic energy of the imagery and intricate themes. The artist's intention is to create calm art — pieces that draw the eye gently, guide the mind along rhythmic paths, and encourage a moment of quiet contemplation.

Cointreau and Liberty London Department Store are among several fashion powerhouses involved in collaborations with the artist.
