About the artist
Judith Beeby is a British painter working primarily in watercolour. Her work explores landscape and the natural world, capturing shifting light, atmosphere and movement through layered washes and expressive mark-making.
Beeby holds a Masters in Fine Art from Bath Spa University (2016) and a BA (Hons) in Creative Art from Bath Spa University (2014). Her practice has received several notable recognitions, including the Royal Academy of the West of England Watercolour Prize (2022), the Watercolour Prize at Broadway Arts (2025), and Highly Commended in the King Lear Art Prize (2023). She was also longlisted for the Visual Arts Open Prize in 2022.
Beeby’s work has been widely exhibited across the UK and internationally, including exhibitions at the Royal West of England Academy Open Exhibition, the Mall Galleries in London with the Royal Institute of British Painters, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the Discerning Eye, as well as The Wells Contemporary at Wells Cathedral. Her paintings have also been shown at the Affordable Art Fair in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, alongside earlier exhibitions in Venice, Moscow and Edinburgh.
She is a member of the Royal Academy of the West of England Artists’ Network, and her watercolours are included in the Modern and Contemporary Art Collection at Chippenham Museum.
