Armando Alemdar (b. 1972) is a contemporary artist whose work is rooted in portraiture and informed by a deep engagement with art history.

Born to Turkish parents, Alemdar moved to Scotland in 1992 and then London, where he has since lived and worked. Over the course of his career, he has developed a distinctive painting practice that draws on the traditions of classical European portraiture, while situating his work within a contemporary context.
